A Symposium by AASU–Weldios University, hosted in partnership with Epik Leaders. This continental event brings together policymakers, innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and youth leaders to design transformative solutions for African agriculture and intra-regional trade aligned with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063
Africa’s agricultural and trade potential remains vast yet underutilized. Although agriculture employs over 60% of Africa’s workforce, it contributes only 15% to the continent’s GDP (AUC, 2024). At the same time, intra-African trade represents just 15% of total trade (AfCFTA Secretariat, 2025).
This symposium seeks to bridge these gaps by creating a dynamic platform for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration. It aims to unleash Africa’s agricultural potential, empower youth innovators, and strengthen intra-African trade networks, paving the way for sustainable and inclusive growth.
It is more than an academic gathering; it is a continental movement to redefine Africa’s agricultural future through technology, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
Africa’s story is shifting — from a continent defined by potential to one driven by purpose. Across our lands, a new generation is cultivating prosperity through innovation, transforming agriculture into opportunity, and turning trade into unity. When Africa trades with itself, it grows with itself — building the foundations of sustainable development for generations to come.
This is Africa’s century — a time when its youth, innovation, and unity will redefine the global economy. By advancing agriculture and strengthening trade within our borders, we are not only cultivating prosperity but reclaiming the narrative of a continent built on collaboration, dignity, and sustainable growth.
To cultivate prosperity in Africa is to invest in our farmers, empower our youth, and trade with one another. Sustainable agriculture and intra-African trade are not separate paths — they are the twin engines that will drive the continent toward the vision of Agenda 2063: an Africa that is self-reliant, prosperous, and united.
Be part of a movement redefining agriculture, trade, and innovation across Africa. Join leaders, visionaries, and changemakers shaping the continent’s sustainable future through agribusiness and regional integration
